What is a lifestyle ad?

A lifestyle ad shows the product being used in a real setting by the kind of person who buys it. Instead of listing features, it sells the feeling or outcome of owning the product, which makes it a strong fit for fashion, home, travel and wellness brands.

Why this lifestyle ad works

01
Stat-led hook
A specific percentage stops the scroll and feels like news rather than an advert.
02
Self-identification
Owners instantly check whether they belong to the stat, which creates curiosity to read the report.
03
Low-friction offer
A free report is an easy first step compared with booking a sales call.
04
Relatable human face
A friendly owner photo in a yellow circle adds warmth and contrast against the lavender background.

Full creative breakdown

Who this ad targets

This ad targets US small-business owners and solo operators who still handle much of their own finance admin. They are typically top-of-funnel: aware they have money questions but not yet shopping for a bookkeeper. The survey framing positions Pilot as an informed expert and turns a stat about peers into a reason to download the report, building an email list Pilot can nurture toward bookkeeping, tax and CFO services.

Copywriting analysis

The opening question mirrors the reader's daily reality of wearing every hat. The 44% stat normalises it, and 'See what they found out.' creates an open loop that suggests other owners discovered something worth knowing. The tone is empathetic rather than critical, which suits overstretched owners. The consistent CTA button links all ads in the series and reinforces that the report is free.

Visual design

A soft lavender background keeps the layout light and lets the dark-purple headline dominate the top half. A bright violet pill button with monospaced uppercase text signals the action. In the bottom-right a large yellow circle frames a cut-out photo of a smiling business owner, adding warmth and colour contrast. The small purple Pilot wordmark sits bottom-left, balancing the composition without stealing focus.

How to adapt this template for your brand

Pick the most surprising number from your own survey or data.
Write the headline so the reader can see themselves in the stat.
Add a clear free-report CTA in a high-contrast button.
Use a cut-out photo of someone who looks like your buyer.
Test several stats from the same report with the same layout.

Tips for accounting software ads on Meta

On Meta, use this with a Lead Ad form or a short landing page and test multiple stat variations in one ad set so the algorithm finds the winner. On LinkedIn, run it as Sponsored Content with a Lead Gen Form targeting owners, founders and managing directors of small businesses. Keep primary text to two lines that tease one more finding from the report, and refresh stats regularly.

About this creative

This square Pilot.com ad promotes a free small-business finance report using a survey statistic as the hook. The top half is a large, bold dark-purple headline on a soft lavender background: 'Running it all yourself? 44% of owners are. See what they found out.' Below it sits a bright violet pill button with monospaced uppercase text reading 'Get the free report today'. In the bottom-right corner a large yellow circle frames a cut-out photo of a laughing woman in a plaid shirt holding a tablet, adding warmth, colour contrast and a relatable human face. The small purple Pilot wordmark sits in the bottom-left corner. The design leaves generous white space so the stat dominates. It is part of a consistent series that tests different statistics from the same survey in an identical layout. The ad is aimed at US small-business owners and works as a top-of-funnel lead magnet that collects emails before Pilot pitches its bookkeeping, tax and CFO services.
